Smoking cessation

We all know smoking is bad for our general health, but did you know it can also cause problems for your teeth, gums and mouth?

As dental professionals, it is important for us to tell you about the risks of smoking and to help you to quit or cut down by giving you information and support.

What are the side effects of smoking?

  • Bad breath
  • Stained teeth
  • Loss of bone density
  • Receding gums
  • Slow healing mouth sores
  • A decreased sense of taste and smell
  • Lead to oral cancer

If you’re a smoker we recommend that you come into the practice for regular check-ups so we are able to give you advice and encouragement while helping you maintain good oral health.

For further advice, please take a look at the NHS smoking cessation website – www.nhs.uk/smokefree

If you have any questions at all, please get in touch.

First time here, absolutely impressed with the professional manor they operate their surgery. I was recommended by my local Doctors and it’s the best advice I have taken up. I look forward to my next visit and feel assured they will give me the best possible treatment available. If this was a hotel it would be 6 star plus.

Vanessa and Emily listened to my concerns and re-assured me throughout my appointment. They were really informative, friendly and made me feel at ease throughout.

I was a very nervous patient, but with the help from such lovely staff, I enjoy coming to the dentist now.
