World Suicide Awareness Day – 10th September 2020
10 September 2020
10 September 2020
We are supporting World Suicide Prevention Day at the practices this year. As a team we think it is important to help raise awareness that suicide can be prevented. We want to encourage members of our community to reach out and seek help in their time of need.
Every year organisations and communities around the world come together to raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide.
In 2018, in the UK and Republic of Ireland, more than 6,800 people died of suicide. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy and we know that suicide is preventable, it is not inevitable.
However, not being okay is still widely stigmatised. IT’S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY!
We want to encourage people in our surrounding communities to keep talking and reach out for help and support when they need it.
